The EDEN.i network (i. e. Energy economics and law in an industrial context), headed by Vincent Bertrand, aims to organize exchanges and meetings with companies faced with new market mechanisms and regulations relating to the energy transition. The purpose of these exchanges is to foster reflection and projects, and to highlight the work of researchers in energy economics and law. This network is set in the context of the industrial region of Northern Franche-Comté, which is home to a large number of industrial companies in the energy sector, whose activities are strongly impacted by energy-climate policies and the economic, regulatory and legal mechanisms of the energy transition. Our focus is therefore firmly on industry and local communities, so that we can better understand how these major changes are modifying the activities of economic players beyond the major centers. This industrial and local approach sets us apart from other research initiatives in energy economics and law. It is fully in keeping with the industrial landscape of Northern Franche-Comté, and is perfectly in line with national guidelines characterized by the desire to develop a “green industry”.
The multi-disciplinary EDEN.i network brings together researchers in economics, law and management sciences from universities and laboratories across France. Its activities are organized around six thematic axes dealing with issues such as decentralized electricity markets and systems, low-carbon mobility, carbon finance and the decarbonization of industry and energy systems.
The EDEN.i Network is organized into thematic areas:
